How to use
Swipe a thick layer onto your nose, cheekbones and the tops of your ears before you head out. Wear the bright colours as bold stripes. With the skin tones, smooth the edges so it blends in.
Reapply at least every 2 hours, and straight after swimming, towelling or sweating. Avoid the eye area.
For adults and children over 6 months.

Step 1: Swipe it on thick
Swipe a solid stripe down your nose, across your cheekbones and along the tops of your ears.

Step 2: Go bold or blend
Wear the brights as bold stripes. With Tan, Bronze or Golden Brown, smooth the edges with a fingertip so it blends in. Either way, keep a good layer on.

Step 3: Top it up
Reapply at least every 2 hours, and straight after swimming, towelling or sweating.

Extreme zinc stick questions
Which colour should I choose?
For a natural look, pick the skin tone closest to yours: Tan, Bronze or Golden Brown. Shell White is our classic white. For sport, team colours or just for fun, go for Red Flash, Orange Sun or Blue Bay. Every shade gives the same SPF 50+ protection, and you can mix any 4 sticks to save 20%.
How is Extreme different from the original zinc sticks?
Extreme comes in 7 shades, including skin tones, in a bigger 15g stick. It has its own formula: zinc oxide with octinoxate, octocrylene and DHHB. The original sticks come in white and two skin tones, in a 12g stick. Both are SPF 50+ and 4 hours water resistant.
Is there a value pack?
Yes: the Red, White & Blue 3 Pack has Red Flash, Shell White and Blue Bay for less than buying them one at a time. Or build your own: mix any 2 or more single sticks and save up to 20%.
Is it waterproof?
No sunscreen is waterproof. It's 4 hours water resistant. Reapply straight after swimming, towelling or sweating, and at least every 2 hours.
Is it mineral only?
No. It combines zinc oxide with three other UV filters: octinoxate, octocrylene and diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate. If you want mineral only, choose Pure Zinc SPF 50, which uses 25% non-nano zinc oxide.
Is it reef safe?
No. It contains octinoxate, one of the two UV filters most often linked with coral reef concerns, so we don't call it reef safe. Our Pure Zinc range, which uses only non-nano zinc oxide, is our reef safe choice.
Can kids use it?
Yes, from 6 months old. Keep babies under 6 months out of direct sun. Kids often go for Red Flash and Blue Bay, and every stick counts towards the mix & match saving.
Will the colours stain my clothes?
Zinc and colour pigments can mark fabric, and brighter shades show more. Let it set before you get changed, and pre-treat any marks before washing.
Does it contain fragrance or parabens?
There's no fragrance (parfum) in the ingredient list, and it's paraben free. You'll find the full list under Full ingredients, near the top of this page.
How do I take it off?
Use an oil or balm cleanser to break it down, then wash with your usual cleanser.
